Gaby is 2! Wait, what? Oh, my goodness, where did time go? Is it only me or do you also have the impression that these kids grow really fast, like a mushroom? I remember holding this bulking baby in my arms on the 26th of November 2015. Tiny fingers, bulky cheeks, gorgeous eyes, Gaby was such a beauty to behold.
Gaby wasn’t supposed to be here
To think that Gaby would not have existed. Wait, let me tell you the whole story. So after giving birth to baby number 1 and 2, I knew I was done! Like finished, Fertig, finito! But one night when baby number 2 was about 1, hubby was like ‘what do you think if we had another baby’? I was like ‘NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we’re done, remember?
The thing is, we had spoken about kids before getting married. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, so much. But in this white man’s land, where it’s only hubby and me, no relatives, it’s everyone for themselves, and God for us all, it’S not easy to raise kids, pursue a career and do God’s work at all. I would have loved to have four kids, that’s if I lived in Cameroon. With family, it’s relatively easier.
1. risk my health and
2. go through the stress of a miscarriage and c-sections again.
So I was done. Two kids are enough blessing. I was wrong!
We planned to have Gaby
I finally decided to compromise with Apostle and opted for one more. And today, my chatterbox, my sweet mother, my extravagant worshipper, the brilliant one, my singing rainbow. My Gaby. She’s such a blessing, my sunshine that I so love. We made a cake that reflects her personality. The rainbow that reminds me of God’s wonderful promise to us, song notes for the worshipper that she is and the clouds that reflect the fact that we are driven by eternity in all we do.
